The updated Nissan Magnite has gone on sale in South Africa. This new model, which was shown to the world in India, just a month ago, offers bold and funky styling, an updated interior with the addition of the latest technology, advanced safety features and a choice of two 1.0-litre engines.

Updated styling
The updated styling includes a unique, striking design which has now been bolstered by the fitment of LED headlights and taillights, stylish alloy wheels and roof rails.
Updated tech and interior
The interior has been upgraded with the latest in interior features including a configurable TFT driver display which facilitates Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for seamless smartphone integration. Four colour ambient lighting allows occupants to customise the interior ambience according to their needs.
A long list of additional features
The new Magnite has now been fitted with a wide variety of features as standard, including an innovative remote engine start, a walkaway lock and approach function, a cooled glove box, on-board ioniser that cleans cabin air and an around view monitor that offers a bird’s eye view when parking.
Built in safety
The Magnite has been built from high-tensile steel which ensures a high degree of inherent safety. This safety shell is backed up by the fitment of six airbags across the range.
Two 1.0-litre engines on offer
The new Nissan Magnite is available with either a 1.0-litre normally aspirated engine or a 1.0 turbocharged unit. These can be paired with either a manual, automated manual or continuously variable transmission.
The 999c, three-cylinder, naturally aspirated option delivers 53kW at 6 250rpm and 96Nm at 3 500rpm while using just 5,9 litres per 100km on the combined cycle.
The 999cc, three-cylinder, turbocharged option steps things up by delivering 74kW at 5 000rpm and 152Nm from 2 200rpm while using just 5,27 litres per 100km on the combined cycle.
A comprehensively specced model range
The new Nissan Magnite range will be offered with three specification grades which includes Visia, Acenta and Acenta Plus derivatives.
Visia models feature six airbags, Vehicle Dynamic Control, Rear Parking Sensors, Tyre Pressure monitoring sensors, electrically adjustable side mirrors, a speed-sensing lock, multi-function steering controls, automatic air conditioning, a shark fin antenna, 16-inch steel wheels with covers and roof rails.
Acenta derivatives add to this with the addition of an eight-inch touch screen infotainment system with floating design that offers Bluetooth connectivity, Wi-Fi and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring capability, a frameless auto dimming mirror, front LED fog lamps, LED daytime running lights, approach unlock and walk away closing, keyless start/stop, a seven-inch TFT info screen and a plasma air purifier. The exterior of Acenta models is distinguished by 16-inch alloy wheels featuring a two-tone design as well as LED headlights.
Acenta Plus models add to this offering even further with the addition of two-tone leather seats, an around view monitor, remote starting, a leather steering wheel and cruise control on CVT models.
